FAQ

  • Do You Include the Case?

For the majority of the trumpets we sell, cases are NOT included. Why? Many vintage cases cannot sufficiently protect the instrument. In addition, old cases are known to have mold, mildew, and other nasties that you simply don’t want in your home. It is very hard to effectively clean and sanitize a case while keeping it useable. If the horns original case is in excellent condition or provides a complete product it will be included if possible.

  • Do You Clean the Trumpets?

We perform a deep clean on every instrument we receive. We will clean using products that are safe for both brass and humans! We use a combination of chemicals, soaps, brushes, and water to clean each trumpet. To help the horn keep clean we include an Ultra-Pure Oils deluxe cleaning kit free of charge. In our opinion, this is the best synthetic valve oil and lube on the market.

  • What Repairs Are Completed?

Any repairs that we believe would make the horn better and more complete are conducted by local Master Brass Technicians that we trust. If the horn is a period piece that requires extra special attention then outside expertise will be used. Most often this would be Josh Landress or Charlie Melk. All repairs, evidence or otherwise, will be provided in the listing.

  • Can I Have Multiple Horns on Trial?

Right now only a single horn can be purchased for trial at a time. All trials are subject to a 5% restocking fee to cover the costs of processing, cleaning, and restocking. This is not for profit, this is simply to cover the costs we pay to conduct business safely and securely. We always recommend you contact us first to make sure the horn you are purchasing matches the player and playing style.

  • Can I Visit the Store?

We are located in Indianapolis, Indiana. We can structure a local meet and greet and bring any number of horns for you to try. We are reasonably close to the IU Jacobs School of Music and also to the world famous Jazz Kitchen so we entertain traveling trumpet players often! Please use the Contact Us page to schedule an in person consultation.
